A routine traffic stop on a vehicle with an obstructed view resulted in the discovery of a substantial amount of powder cocaine yesterday, sending a father and daughter duo to jail.
Edward Manual Rodriguez, 59, and his daughter, Amanda Ann Rodriguez, 28, are both charged with aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs.
Police stopped the vehicle the two were driving in the vicinity of I-40 and Peebly road.
After making contact with the two, officers performed a preliminary search of the vehicle using a state certified K-9. Police say the dog alerted them to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle located 35 foil wrapped bundles of a white powdery substance which field tested positive for cocaine. A total of 91-pounds of cocaine was confiscated by police.
Also confiscated were a notepad with several scribbled notes on it and a cell phone.
Officers noted that both suspects were carrying out of state drivers licenses and had their residency in Florida.
Rodriguez and his daughter were taken to the Oklahoma County Jail without further incident.
