A man wanted for allegedly shooting another man in the buttocks and groin last August is behind bars after investigators were able to acquire a warrant and place him under arrest.
Dione Haskell Prince, 35, is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Haskell was arrested without incident Jan. 7.
Police say Prince was involved in a physical altercation with a female at a local motel in the 3700 block of NW 39th street on Aug. 26, 2021. During this altercation a male witness intervened. Prince is believed to have then produced a handgun and shot at the victim several times, striking him once, this according to the report on file.
The report went on to state the victim in the shooting attempted to flee the area but was chased by Prince who continued to fire several shots, striking the victim a second time.
Prince was seen fleeing the scene in a SUV with a paper tag.
Investigators were able to identify Prince after speaking to multiple witnesses in the surrounding area.
Prince is being held inside the Oklahoma County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
