Auditions for the Oklahoma Senior Follies will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 4 at Lyric Theatre Rehearsal studios, 1801 NW 16th. An accompanist and a CD player will be provided.
Director Terry Runnels has invited talented seniors ages 55 and up to audition for the show. Matinee performances will be at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24 at Oklahoma City Community College. Rehearsals will be weekends in May and June.
Runnels says that seniors who can play or sing county music from the early 20th century to today are especially needed. This includes fiddle players, guitarists, dancers, singers and Will Rogers imitators.
This year, Oklahoma Senior Follies is partnering with the Alzheimers Association.
