Cristo Rey Oklahoma City Catholic High School will be holding an open house event on Saturday, December 10 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for potential students and parents interested in learning more about the school and visiting the facility. The Cristo Rey OKC facility is located at 900 N. Portland on the OSU-OKC campus. Applications are currently being accepted from students who will be in ninth grade in Fall of 2017, when the school officially opens its doors.
Cristo Rey OKC President Renee Porter said the school was responding to overwhelming demand from the community.
“Our last open house had over 100 attendees,” said Porter. “There is a lot of enthusiasm in the community for an affordable, high-quality education that puts our students on the path to college completion and a great career. Having an additional open house event will give more parents and students a chance to see the campus and learn about our curriculum and our unique Work-Study Program.”
Parents interested in enrolling their children at Cristo Rey should visit CristoReyOKC.org.
The $40 application fee is being waived for the first 25 applicants.
Cristo Rey Oklahoma City Catholic High School will exclusively serve low and modest income families in the Oklahoma City area. The school will be a member of the national Cristo Rey Network comprised of 32 Catholic, college preparatory high schools that serve more than 10,000 underserved youth across 21 states and the District of Columbia.
The schools combine rigorous academics with real-world work experience, seeking to prepare their students for success in college and life. As part of Cristo Rey’s unique Corporate Work Study Program, students work one day a week in professional settings, earning a majority of their own tuition.
