The 2nd Annual Oklahoma City Glitter Ball will return to the metro promising all of the spectacle, sparkle, and whimsy of the original event. Proceeds from the evening, presented by Dunlap Codding, will benefit the Oklahoma City Girls Art School, deadCENTER Film Festival and Sunbeam Family Services.
Glitter Ball will take place Saturday, December 12 from 7 to 11 p.m. at DC on Film Row, a community event space located at 609 W. Sheridan Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City.
Last year’s premiere Glitter Ball event, which celebrated local restaurateur, movie producer and former festival program director Melissa Scaramucci’s 40th birthday, raised over $50,000.00. Proceeds from that event benefitted the deadCenter festival.
Preceding the Ball will be a family-friendly “Christmas with Santa” celebration in Dunlap Codding’s courtyard. “Christmas with Santa” is free and open to the public.
The evening will then evolve into a glittery gala celebration during the Glitter Ball.
“We will build the gala structure for Glitter Ball in the center of the six hundred block of West Sheridan Avenue,” said event producer Kindt Steven Myers. “Glitter Ball will once again be the event of the season, sure to wow your senses and steal the winter spotlight.”
The Ball will feature a variety of live performances, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and premium bar, along with “several signature surprises.”
“We’re creating a downtown wintry spectacle,” said Myers. “Last year, we had aerialists suspended 22 feet high from igloos, snowfall, and live performances our city is still raving about. This year, absolutely nothing is beyond imagination.”
The event will also showcase art for auction organized by and benefitting Oklahoma City Girls Art School. The gala will continue to raise funds with a special golden ticket raffle.
OKC Girls Art School works to empower underserved girls to become successful in life through learning about the arts, artists, and the arts community. The school provides high quality visual arts training. It introduces the girls to successful women artists in the OKC metro, giving the students an opportunity to experience how the arts help build the community.
“Dunlap Codding is excited to act as this year’s benefactor, knowing this fundraiser will reach three wonderful non-profit organizations doing real work in and for our local community,” said Douglas Sorocco of Dunlap Codding.
The deadCENTER Film Festival is Oklahoma’s largest film festival and one of the “20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” according to MovieMaker magazine.
Sunbeam Family Services is one of Oklahoma’s oldest nonprofits, providing help, hope and the opportunity to succeed to people of all stages of life in central Oklahoma through a variety of programs, which include early childhood education, counseling, foster care and senior services.
Glitter Ball is part of Downtown OKC’s “Downtown in December” festivities, a series of holiday events and attractions in the heart of Oklahoma City that began in November.
The evening’s entertainment will include the Perpetual Motion Dance troupe; Blake O the DJ; Patrick Xavier Danger Curry, a fire professional and flame hander; and performance artist, Shantel Mandalay.
Tickets are $100 for general admission and $200 for the VIP experience. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.kindtevents.com/glitterball. A portion of the ticket purchase is tax deductible.
