News9’s Capitol Report this week began with a memorable remark from the late Ronald Reagan: “Of the four wars in my lifetime, none of them came about because America was too strong.” Patrick B. McGuigan discussed the Islamic State’s attacks on Paris.

He recalled that President George W. Bush had a moment where he declared “mission accomplished” in the war on terror, and President Barack Obama recently asserted that ISIS was contained.

Crediting National Review Online’s Andrew McCarthy for the observation, McGuigan shared with reporter Alex Cameron a reflection: Wars are won or lost, not declared over.

Wrapping up, the CapitolBeatOK editor praised Positive Tomorrows in Oklahoma City for 25 years of service in the education of homeless children. He thanked director Susan Agel for her work
