The 2015 HITS Oklahoma City Running Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, South Mickey Mantle Drive in Oklahoma City.
The event will include the Friends & Family Mile, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon, along with the Family Fitness Expo providing something for the new runner to the more experienced daily runner.
Race day begins on Sunday morning with the Athlete Check-In and Packet Pick-Up from 5 – 10:30 a.m. The Half Marathon & Marathon will start at 7 a.m. The 5K begins at 10 a.m. and the 10K steps off at 11 a.m.
Registration is available at HITS Running Festival Expos during race weekends and race morning up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the race. Online registration closes October 16 at 4 p.m.
Registration for the Friends & Family Mile is $10 in advance, $20 on race day; the 5K costs $25 in advance/$50 race day; 10K costs $30 in advance/$70 on race day; Half Marathon is $65 and $95 on race day; the Marathon costs $75 in advance and $110 on race day.
Entry fees for the HITS Running Festivals are non-refundable and non-transferable. All athletes will receive a technical t-shirt and finisher medal. Retired and active military are eligible for a 15 percent military discount on any registration fee.
“Each race will finish inside Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark; Course is flat and fast,” said HITS Endurance PR Specialist Emily Glass. “Highlights include running over the Skydance Bridge and on the manicured River Trails along the Oklahoma River. Every athlete registered prior to Labor Day was offered two free tickets to an Oklahoma City Dodgers game.”
“HITS Endurance has 13 races on the calendar this year. HITS Triathlon Series hosts 9 triathlons (swim, bike, run races). HITS Running Festivals hosts four running races. 2015 is the third year of HITS OKC,” Glass added.
The Fitness Expo begins on Saturday, October 17 from 2 – 6 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Athlete Check-In and Packet Pick-Up is available at this time. The Athlete Pasta Party will take place at 4 p.m. It continues on Sunday October 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Expo will feature fun and educational events including clinics will be led by fitness and training experts and nutritionists speaking about the best food and beverage products for a fit and healthy lifestyle, product sampling, and demonstrations.
Expo vendors will include Oklahoma Air National Guard, 4 Stichin’ Sisters Headbands, ID 4 Life Nutritional Supplement, and Brixton Chiropractic.
The *Pasta Party” is free for all registered athletes who RSVP by Sunday, October 11 to [email protected] The cost is $10 for friends and family; and all athletes who do not RSVP. Payment is by cash/check only at the expo or door.
Volunteers are needed in several areas, including the aid station, the packet pick up area, food and beverage areas and at the finish line. Each volunteer receives a free boxed lunch from Jayson’s Deli. To sign up, email [email protected]
As an incentive to groups and organizations that bring 25 or more members to volunteer at our event, HITS will provide a monetary gift of $250 to the organization. They will also have the opportunity to provide a banner, which will be displayed on the race course.
