“An Affair of the Heart” returns to State Fair Park in Oklahoma City this week. Set your alarm for an early wakeup Friday morning, friends! Friday morning’s shopping extravaganza begins at 9 a.m., but getting there early is never a bad idea.

Yes, it’s hard to believe it’s that time again. Say it ain’t so – where on earth did last year go? The bad news is the year past raced by so quickly. But the good news is the stage is set for the 29th gathering for “An Affair of the Heart”is upon us.

The run dates are Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; then Sunday, Feb. 9. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $7, and that covers all three days of the show. For more information, visit; follow the group on Facebook as well.

Some details: Stop by the Permanent Makeup booth (# 173) in the Cox Building to consult with artist Vann Reece. Need a new “you” – or just a touch-up? Reece will be happy to explain the latest techniques and creative approaches to permanent makeup and ways to enhance your beauty.

The Toby Keith Foundation returns, this year offering information on the newly constructed home for pediatric cancer patients (and their families) when they come to Oklahoma City’s institutes for treatment.

As you enter the Cox Building, talented sisters Lisa Dalhem and Beth Beccera will release “Mimi’s Kitchen Cupboard,” a cookbook of recipe favorites from their late mother Gayle Dyer, one of the co-founders of “Affair.” Additionally, Gayle’s great book, “Dancing in the Birth Bath” will be on sale, with proceeds boing to the Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral.

Many of The City Sentinel’s friends in the local news and entertainment media will be on hand, including Moore Monthly, KOMA, KMGL, JAKE, KYIS, KSBI Channel 52, and the KWTV News9 team, including acclaimed meteorologist David Payne.

Come see the fun, and watch a commercial and cultural phenom continue to grow. “An Affair of the Heart” plans an addition run at the Fair grounds in October … the “Heart of Tulsa” shows in July and November and, for the first time, a three-day run in San Antonio in late June.
