On Monday April 30, the Bella Foundation hosts its annual “Keep Bella Out of the Ruff 2012” golf tournament from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Greens Country Club, 13100 Green Valley Drive, in Oklahoma City. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Bella Foundation.
The tournament is a four-person shotgun scramble with Best ball played. Entry fee for a team of four is $500.
Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot afford veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when they are brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.
“At The Bella Foundation, we believe that every animal should receive the best possible care regardless of the owner’s ability to pay,” said Eric McCune, President of the Bella Foundation. “When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer at least eight hours of their time at a local animal shelter. Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.”
There will be an award ceremony and prize raffle immediately following the tournament with a complimentary lunch. Special meal requests can be made by emailing the Bella Foundation at [email protected]
Every golfer will receive a $50 gift card to www.100ThingsToBuy.com.
Hole in One Prizes include the $1 Million Hole in One prize shot. It is165 yards in length with a participant drawn randomly for the attempt. The $50,000 Grand Prize, gives $25,000 to the winner and $25,000 to the Bella Foundation. It is open to all golfers. Entrants also have an opportunity to wine flat panel television (all eligible, one shot attempt) and a set of Nike Irons or a $500 Visa gift card (all eligible, one shot attempt).
A $10 entry ticket purchases an opportunity to win a $5,000 cash prize during the Putt Contest, from 3 – 3:30 p.m.
Mulligans will be available for $5 each with a maximum of four. Only two can be used per each nine holes played.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and golfers will have free use of ball range and one bucket of balls until 8:45 a.m. All donations made to The Bella Foundation are tax deductible.
Several levels of tournament sponsorships are available: Platinum Sponsorships are $2,500, Gold Sponsorships are $1500, Silver Sponsorships are $1000 and Bronze Sponsorships are $500. Beverage Cart Sponsorships are available for $750 and Hole Sponsorships are $200.
Based in Oklahoma City, the Bella Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization created to assist low-income, elderly or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care when it cannot be afforded and to find permanent loving homes for rescued animals.
“The Bella Foundation takes the placement of animals in homes very seriously and our goal is to do everything possible to match the right person with the right animal. Please join us and be part of our mission,” said McCune.
